In what will probably turn out to be something that affects all of on the Internet eventually, the State of New York passed a law requiring any items purchased by people who live in the state of New York to be taxed. This is something that everyone expected would come some day. New York will fight some battles on this, and if they win, you can be sure other states are going to follow suit:

If you are married and your spouse works in NY they are subject to NY State income tax, on the combined income, not just the income earned in NY State.
